    Get to know Women’s Health Associates Healthy Food of the Week: The Peach! Did you know that the peach has lots of body healthy benefits? Some of the best benefits of the peach include heart health, infection protection, skin health, and benefits to kidney & liver function.

    The peach contains a high amount of very important heart healthy compounds. The Vitamin K in a peach can help prevent blood from clotting and help to protect against a variety of heart disease. Peaches also contain Iron, which promotes healthy blood and can help to prevent developing anemia. When you eat a peach, which contain the antioxidant compounds lutein and lycopene, you can also help to reduce your risk of developing heart disease.

    Peaches are high in antioxidants. Each of these body healthy antioxidants, such as vitamin c and lycopene, help to keep your body healthy. By providing your body with antioxidant rich fruits, like the peach, you help to eradicate free radicals in the body, which can cause everything from cancer and autoimmune diseases to Alzheimer’s and heart disease.

Attention Patients: We have been and continue to take every precaution to keep our patients and staff safe during this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Until further notice, we will continue to restrict visitors from attending patient appointments. We understand, especially for our expecting mothers, that these restrictions may be difficult and untimely. A visitor is only permitted in the following cases:

• Pediatric patients (17 and under) will be allowed one parent
• Any patient requiring physical assistance to get into the building for area of care will be allowed one visitor to assist them until an Oneida Health employee is able to assist, at which point the visitor will be asked to wait in their vehicle or return following the appointment
